Meeting Update & Up-coming Events

Because of the small turnout at the last meeting (those Gaylord band members sure are in demand!) the next Crew meeting has been scheduled for next Wednesday, May 16 / 6:30 at the library.

Mark your calendars for these up-coming events:

Saturday, May 31 - Fundraiser Yard / Rummage Sale. Tentative location is corner of S. Otsego & Grandview ( in front of old Carter's Grocery). We are soliciting donations of marketable items from Crew families & friends. All proceeds will be shared among Crew member accounts. More details to follow - but start now on setting aside those items that you can part with and that will make for an attractive inventory!

Friday June 6 to Sunday June 8th - Jordan Valley Hike / Campout. Sign up with Nick C. !

Friday, July 25 to Saturday, July 26 - Sleeping Bear Dunes Outing. Tentative plans are for camping overnight in Dunes National Lakeshore & spending Saturday at the beach, climbing the dunes and / or just having a great time hangin' out. Crew members who are on Camp Staff at Camp Greilick will, hopefully, be able to join the rest of the Crew on Saturday for this outing.

August 19 - 21 - Backpacking trip in the Pictured Rocks National Lakshore back country. A true high adventure outing is being planned - hiking the back country & trail camping. This should be a great outdoor experience for everyone!

Calling all Crew Members! Christopher & the bluebirds need your help!

Christopher C. is completing his "Eagle" Project on Sunday, March 30th and is asking for help from the Crew. Planning & carrying out a community service project is a requirement for a Scout to earn his Eagle Scout Award. Christopher is doing a wildlife project putting up new blue bird nesting houses on the Audubon Society's bluebird habitat trail near Sparr. All volunteers should meet at the Sparr Mall at 1 pm on Sunday. Wear warm clothing & gloves. If any adult can provide a (charged up) cordless drill, that would be most helpful. Also, parents are needed to help transport the volunteers to the various locations along the 16 mile long trail. Refreshments will be on hand at the completion of the project. Please give Chris a call if you need directions or more information.

Rockin' at the Lock-in!

Crew 1 members had a great time at the Sportsplex Lock-in skating, swimming, bowling, playing Guitar Hero and just chillin' & meeting new friends. We had 64 players compete in our Guitar Hero Tournament from 17 different BSA units! Congratulations to the 2008 N. Michigan BSA Guitar Hero of Heroes, Bobby M. from Crew 1! We're not worthy! We're not worthy!
